| I can't seem to get around the CTD problem I'm having, and would like any/all advice please.
I did try doing what was said in a post below, related to CTD,but failed.
I have a 2600k processor, GTX 580 vid card, 8 gigs ram,Asus mobo.
Thx, Respectfully, Rich

| I have win 7 64 bit,and it crashes randomly. I might be playin for 30 minutes etc,then it crashes,or,for not even a minute,and it crashes. No rhyme or reason to it,sadly | |

| If I set the affinity like Blanco described, it works fine. If I forget to set the affinity, it WILL crash to desktop!

| I can't even set affinity. When I try,it says access denied.
Frustrating,to say the least. I might throw together old puter(just need a vid card) so I can run BF2.

Looks like you are not using an account with admin privileges or the profile is corrupted.

| I finally figured it out.
I had to goto task manager, then I had to checkmark "show processes from all users".
That enabled me to use affinity etc,in regards to utilizing "X" core/s etc.
Thx for trying!
See yas on the battlefield.

| Now, I had the nvidia 7900GTO and the game ran perfect. No glitches, CTD, or lock ups. That card took a crap so, I bought a new nvidia 460GTX 1G. Installed the card and BOOM, CTD at random times. I heard BF2 doesn't like DX11 and that's where the problem is. I tried the affinity fix, beta video drivers, evga's drivers, disabling aero, disabling AV, disabling UAC, rolling back to an older driver, and just about everything in between.
I ended up formatting to Win XP 32bit. Now, the game hiccups at random and totally locks up at random as well but, only on another server and ONLY on that one!
I may reinstall Win 7 Ultimate 64bit and try that again. Comp was faster with that OS.

| Update.......
I thought using the affinity, and reducing the cores had solved te problem, but to no avail.
Ironically,I was talking to Rite-wabbit in another BF2 server, told him my specs etc......and he stated he wasn't very hip in regards to puter stuff, but to try rolling the GPU driver back to 275.33. Was using the latest driver 296.10 .
After rolling back the driver via Wabbits suggestion,it has ran perfectly,as far as no CTD. Gonna run it another week, and will report my findings etc.

| I tried everything under the sun to fix this and it still would C2D. I ended up formatting computer a few months back and reinstalled BF2 and not a problem since. (knocking on wood)
The only thing I did was format and fresh install of BF2.
