| I love that pic man. I also love the Squad Car. Our squad cars in Georgia HWP are also majority Chargers. We also have a nice car that a local city has adopted. They have 3 cameras on the front, and rear of the squad cars. They snap photos of each cars licence plates within a 3lane distance. It can read all 50 states and most countries. It takes them and runs them with the GBI database [soon global], and checks for every thing from warrants to wanted fugitives. If it gets a 'hit', the computer beeps, freezes, and the guys plate comes up, his mug shot [if available], and all his information. Then the cop does his thing. computer Car Have yall adopted that yet? [I train with the Sheriff Depot for military training. 'Explorer'] | |

| certain area's in texas have started this as well...for about a year now i believe...i know they are doing it in houston, tx because a buddy of my buddy got busted by the license plate cams... there is even talk about installing them on street lights...
but i'm actually all for it...we need to lock up more of these wanted fugitives and clean the streets up...the way i look at it...if you're not doing anything wrong...you have nothing to worry about...

| I am sure you all have seen the Speed limit signs with the radar gun that tells you how fast your driving. What if they put a camera behind it and it shot you plate, and your speed. Then you get a ticket, much like you would if you ran a red light with a cam. | |

We have those in Arizona. My biggest problem with them is the fact that, like the red light cameras, they States ends up over paying some private company for the contract to install them and it ends up costing tax payers far more money than they "safety" is worth. As for the red light cameras, which we also have, they make, and I can attest to this, intersections far more dangerous as people are scared shitless to go through a yellow light and the end up causing accidents as a result. The NYT did an article on this not so long ago. There is also the issue that after the state has installed permanent cameras, the revenues from the cameras drops precipitously as people avoid the areas. Then the state pays the same company to come in and move the devices to other intersections costing the tax payers more money. It's one big cluster fuck. Here is a link to a different article about the red light cameras. Not the one I had read in the paper, but relevant none the less.

| In GA we have the same problem. People are arguing over keeping them on due to the cost over revenue. So now, most are their, just not active. They will still make you stop you from running red lights, on or off. | |
