BF4 is not

So I bought and installed BF4.
This does not seem like it will be fun...

It does take getting used to Rapid but once u learn the Maps and how to load out your kits it is pretty decent a little fast paced but I'm starting to get the hang of it now. it's not as generic as BF2 where all u do is pick a kit and fight u have to use strategy like in real warfare, but like u at first I was overwhelmed and died ..."alot" give it some time and keep trying I ask alot of questions in game lol. it is definitely more high tech war than we are used to on BF2

Well I am ready to delete the game. Interface seems overly complicated, gameplay is crap, not feeling the same kind of teamplay as bf2. There is no capping out, they just spawn in behind you so its like a constant team deathmatch. Most of my deaths are from people I never see (like the next street over shooting through 2 blown out walls). I suspect hacks are rampant. It sounds like unlocks particularly supressed guns with high rates of fire count for a lot which makes starting out even less fun as you feel like the russian guy who only got an ammo clip and is sent out to manage the best he can. After I turned off "Origin in game" the game ran fairly well for a couple of weeks but more recently I get lag and stutter that I can't shake. They throw tons of crap at you after every round, guns, doodads for guns, stealth kits, defensive kits, different camo colors, I feel like a woman trying to decide what shoes to put with a certain purse and very little of it seems to make a significant difference as you dick around trying different combinations of stuff.

To be honest BF4 never seduced me ... too much arcade style, more than BF2.

This is not what I seek in this kind of games.

Finally I managed to put BF2pr working properly,even having BF2 engine as basis...this is the best tactical shooter I ever played so far.

Teamwork and squad members comunication,coordination between squads are essential.
Excellent maps...weapons and assets.Like it very much!
Almost free from hackers because it has no ranks or overall score, only the score of each round.

The only fault I find is that the learning curve of the mod is too long;especially for those who were regular in vBF2.

Just made SGT. Tuesday on BF4  it takes getting use to for sure like I said BUT BF2 is really old technology and so things moved a lot slower I admit it has been a big challenge getting use to how fast everything moves and picking kits was challenging at first till I figured it out and yes it took a few times before I got it to where it was useful on the field there is a huge dis advantage when u first start u have crappy guns but can pickup any kit from a dead soldier and do better I suggest going to test range and practice with everything there before u jump in game I died so many times at first I was getting mad or do spectator mode where u can watch the battle that is very useful for learning strategy and the map as well and u learn hiding spots and tricks that being said I love the graphics and realness and how weapons causes appropriate damage when shot with certain weapons at vehicles or aircraft I can understand the frustration but u can't compare a game like BF4 with the ancient technology of BF2 like comparing a Ford fusion to a Turbo Vette  I love BF2 it is a great game ..(for its time) but it is very slow  not realistic weapons don't cause appropriate damage like they should 500 pound bomb drops next to u kills u but leaves your car undamaged tank shoots in canopy of a chopper 15 feet away and don't destroy it we have all seen the many glitches but it is from our generation and what we are use to and again great game love it to death but it does need a ton of improving by anyone's standard to be more realistic the squad talk and stuff is awesome in BF2 but again things move slower where things move more real time in BF4 if BF2 does die don't think u will ever find any game with the slower old school tempo anymore the new games are designed to be real world and fast paced just like a real war would be I'm slowly adapting but not without my share of learning curves don't knock it till u have given yourself a chance to learn it I still have a bunch to learn but I'm getting there but for now my first choice will be with the TFC clan as long as there still playing together but when we're not I will be trying to increase my knowledge in BF4  have a great day everyone

It all sounds real good except for no squad talk = no team play.

It does have squad talk Doug if people choose to use it just like BF2 people get in but never say a word the whole time I don't get it but whatever floats there boat I guess

Even have a commander in BF4 they can drop u supplies and all just like BF2 & they have lots of modes to play like conquest , death match, domination something for everyone

BF4 is very fast. I've managed to rank up to Seargent III
You can't really just sit and watch, someone will end up behind you with a knife. Or you will be sniped.
I've been playing a bit. Speaking of knives. Being able to counter attack a knife attack, and killing them, is pretty cool. The knife attacks from behind will surprise you. I'd really like to get a server we can lock/password and play on for a bit. At first, the game play is very annoying. Like Gunny said, you will get shot, over and over... and over and over and over. Battle packs. Open them.
Also, if you are going to buy this game, there are many "versions" and such.
The extra maps, cost money. For each one. I bought the Digital Deluxe Edition. This does not come with the extra maps, which you will want to get. They are $15 each. I've bought two so far, I probably should have done it different. I am not sure if Premium pays for all the add on packs or if it just gets you early access to pay and download them? Gunny you own that version yes? Whats up?

Yes I have premium so I get every map as it is released and early access to play it 2 weeks before it goes out to everyone else 1 thing I did buy was all 11 kits of weapons unlocks it is worth it to me to be on an even killing field with the more advanced weapons I do like all the different things u can do with a kit like assault u can also be medic and put down spawn beacons for your people and use a 44 desert eagle and u can actually destroy Claymores other than using your body, by shooting them or blow them up with c4 whatever u want. I still don't see how they watch that mini map and what's in front of them but I'm going to figure it out if it kills me and it will a whole bunch I'm sure lol

So GunnySgtJR how much for all 11 kits of weapons unlocks?
And how much for premium?

I will have look for u Doug I bought them way back when game came out then didn't play much for a long time cause EA was still up and running and our server was rocking everyday but just started playing heavy again since the gamespy shut down and lack of players on the server lately I want to say it was 40 for the premium origin was doing a special I remember for that weekend and they do them for unlocks kits to u just have to watch for them I really love when they do double points weekends u can really fly thru the ranks then lol

So I just paid $39 for Premium, in addition to the $26 I spent on the Deluxe Digital Edition.
Plus I had bought two of the map packs at 15$ each before I bought Premium which was a waste of $30.

Anyway, now to download 10+ GB of game files...
