I re-installed Vent about 5 minutes ago. I was on-line, able to chat the day before yesterday, but now it is saying, "Connected to the server but unable to authenticate your log in and password."

Yes, I already entered the correct info into Vent again. Same result.

May an Admin will be able to help with this one? What a Face

Well, according to a few "Google Searches", I've ran across something here ...

I am running Windows 7 x64 bit version. Seems this version is causing issues.

What version is everybody running? I have uninstalled, deleted app data, reinstalled ... set correct I.P, Port and Password ... still can't get in. Rolling Eyes

Well, according to a few "Google Searches", I've ran across something here ...

" the 2.1.4 version of Ventrilo is very old, unfortunately, the newer clients do not allow connections to servers running the old version (2.1.x), which had a lot less draconian licensing terms. The newer server versions aren't even available to purchase, unless you're operating a business and agree to run a ventrilo server with rentable slots. "

" There is software called Mumble. It is free and needs much less from broadband than Ventrilo 2.1.4. Its opensource and MurMur (Mumble's server program) is very small and dont need more than 1/1 internet connection. "

I have a laptop with Windows 7 64-bit and has 4 gigs of RAM, so it would be better just to use the 32-bit client?

Also, when installing it, it asks me do I want to put it in C:Program Files or C:Program Files x86 scratch

I just removed it. I give up. See you guys in game. I'm done using Ventrilo. I miss the old team speak. Too many known issues with this program and I don't have the time to figure them all out. See ya.

Ok ... UPDATE!

After a long morning of digging, I think I found the issue with Vent.

Seems I need to go into my folder "ventrilo2.ini" and delete my information, then re-enter that same information upon another install of the version. Now, I need to know the current version and what bit (32 or 64) you guys are using. I had all this setup a week ago, but then all the sudden it just tells me that "Connected but unable to authenticate information". Seems it is not wanting to take my user name / password.

@ Blanco, I apologize for the frustrations this is causing, but could you please reset ALL my information? When I get home, I will try to re-enter everything and see if this helps at all. I cleared out all hidden files/folders and removed everything associated with Vent, and re-installed it but nothing works.

ok, so after 4 hours of google searches and deleting files and reinstalling files, ventrilo tech support advises that I am locked out. The guy on the phone was VERY RUDE and was talking to me like a child. He wouldn't even let me even start to ask a question before he was so quick to jump down my throat. If he don't like his job, QUIT! I do not have authority to request a service ticket, so therefore they can not help me unless I dish out $200. I am done with vent. Either find a different program or talk to you in game. The password that you sent me Blanco will not work, because of my many attempts to enter the server. With this being said, Blanco, you are the one who has to submit a ticket to have my name and password unblocked. I have contacted my ISP, we have checked the server for connectivity, and all the info is correct.

So Blanco, I've sent emails to you to ask you to look into this for me. It's in your court boss man.

Solution from Ventrilo Support Team: YOU have to submit the ticket for me to be unlocked and then you guys will talk to me in Vent. Other than that, my job is done on my end.
