The main reason I have come to play almost exclusively at TFC is because all in all it is the best administrated server I have come across and the rules are reasonable (there are some servers with wacky self serving rules).
There are a oouple of things I find odd.
Some admins kick themselves for accidentally breaking a rule that anyone else would get a warning for. While I understand them holding themselves to a higher standard, thats just silly.

The other thing is team balance. I watch admins play a whole round on a team that is 6 players short because of bots and afk's and not do anything about it. While I enjoy a good beating as much as the next guy I find these rounds unrewarding regardless of which team I am on. Strange.

There are many times that I see this happening, the unbalanced teams. I always try to either move myself to the team needing players , or setting auto balance on. The problem with the total unbalanced teams and fixing this, is a lot of times, we don't notice it before the first few flags have been taken and then it's mostly too late to try to fix it, and it would just be better if the round ended. Also, it's not a quick 2 second fix to balance the teams manually. Have to switch to desktop, start or use bf2cc, pick players to move when you know it's going to piss off whoever you move to the losing team... By then half the flags are taken, game is basically over, people have left... I know it's a pain sometimes. Happens to me and everyone really. We try to fix it, but yea, sometimes we should be more aware of that situation and sometimes that's just the way life is.

When I am playing and the round is starting, I always minimize my game first and check the bots and leave 2 bots on each side.
I check how many players are on each side and try to balance teams based on the skill of the players.
While I am at the office I constantly check if teams are balanced.
If server is almost full, I stop the bots server.
Only a few admins run bf2cc and move the bots.
There is another situation that unbalance the teams.
When the round starts and 2 bots are on each team and the number of players are even, some of those players could be afk, but there is no way to know it.
We need to wait at least 5 min and check again in bf2cc afk players and move or kick those afk players accordingly.
Sometimes 5 min is too much when most of the afk players were at chinese team and usmc team cap the airfield earlier in game.
Then I start moving the bots to the usmc team for autobalance can do the job.

I am not sure what you mean.
We apply the rules to us the same way we do it to the guest players.
Who should receive a warning first ? New players not aware of our rules.... like jets passing arty island, arty on carrier, etc.
But regular players and =TFC= members aware of the rules its a kick without warning.
When a =TFC= member breaks a rule we warn ourselves in ventrilo and we act accordingly.

I'm like you Kilroy. I don't think a blowout is much fun from either side. That being said, the practice of kicking players including myself for violation of last flag rule is not a punitive action but rather an attempt to allow the Chinese team to make a move. Many times, this action will result in the offending player being team switched. In other words, the first point that you find silly is an attempt to address the second point that you find strange. bounce
